about

SILICA MEGA CITY DEVELOPMENT is a smart urban and Climate Resilient City. The Silica City Project is a proposed smart urban and climate resilient city that could eventually become the new capital city of Guyana.

Project Area is 12,100 acres of land in the Yarrowkabra and Kuru-kuru communities; 40 kms from Georgetown, 45 kms from Linden the second biggest city in Guyana and 39 kms from Cheddi Jagan International Airport. The proposed project consists of a fully Self-Financed Affordable Housing Project under the Design-Build-Finance Model (DBF) in partnership with the G.O.G.

Start date of the project: The first phase of the project (3000 acres) is underway for construction of an innovation village. It will feature a technology hub and homes for around 400 young professionals. Expected hand- over is in 2025.

This part of Silica City project handled the development of 160 acres or 6,969,60 square feet for development.

This will allow us to have drainage, road network, sidewalks, Standard Income Lots, Moderate Income Lots, Middle & High Income lots, Social Spaces (playground, recreation facilities) and Commercial spaces (factories, apartments, office, supermarket, market
complex etc.).

Infrastructural works are estimated to be completed in one(1) year, while construction of housing units are estimated to be completed within (sixteen)16 months depending on variables. Commercial Areas will be developed sequentially in accordance with the developmental plan.
